How to use this tool
Enter a start and end date, with the end no earlier than the start. Read the elapsed calendar days first, then the total counting both endpoints, and the equivalent whole weeks plus remaining days. Decide which counting convention fits your trip, event or anniversary.
Rules and supported dates
The end date cannot be earlier than the start date.
Supported dates: 1900-01-01 to 2199-12-31
Worked example
2024-01-01 to 2024-01-08 is a gap of 7 days, or 1 week. Counting both endpoints gives 8 days. The same date has a gap of 0 days but an inclusive count of 1.
Common question
Why is my own count one day different?
Usually one count includes the starting day and the other does not. The elapsed difference treats the start as day zero; the inclusive result adds one. Both include weekends and holidays. These are calendar dates, not durations in hours, so daylight-saving changes do not alter the date count.
