Birthdays near Chinese New Year
Gregorian 2008 spans two Chinese zodiac years. Births from 1 January through 2008-02-06 belong to the previous Pig year; the Rat year starts on 2008-02-07. The Chinese New Year date above is the boundary used here. Enter the complete birth date in the tool, especially for a birthday early in the year.
This Chinese zodiac tool changes year on Chinese Lunar New Year, not 1 January or the Start of Spring solar term.
Zodiac years and actual age
This page’s age range applies to births from 1 January through 31 December of Gregorian 2008, calculated as of the displayed date. It does not describe an entire Chinese lunar zodiac year. Completed age depends on whether the birthday has passed; if the Gregorian year has not begun, no one in that birth-year group has yet been born. Use the full birthday for an individual age or next anniversary.
Age increases on the anniversary. For 29 February, this tool uses 1 March in common years; this is not a legal eligibility decision.
