Build a wedding preparation checklist around shared decisions

Agree the activities first, give each task a clear owner and completion condition, then save a printable copy of the plan your families actually chose.

On this page

A useful wedding preparation checklist records decisions made by the people involved. It should not impose one community's ceremonies on every Singapore family or turn a Taiwan engagement template into a compulsory local programme. Agree on the activities you want before deciding what to buy or who must provide it.

Decide the scope before building the shopping list

Discuss the activity format, participants, place and proposed sequence. Separate confirmed activities, matters still requiring agreement and activities not being included. Keep a short note of deliberate omissions so a later reader does not mistake an agreed choice for an oversight. A long default checklist is not evidence that every listed item is necessary.

Give each task a useful completion condition

A task should say what needs doing, who coordinates it, what completion means and when it will be checked. 'Confirm the venue arrival time with both families' is easier to verify than 'handle venue'. Name one coordination contact where practical, while keeping any decisions that still require both parties explicit. Put a date or necessary note in the task text if the simple worksheet has no separate field for it.

Split work that is too broad to track

'Prepare items' can hide several unfinished steps: agree the list, confirm quantities and budget, assign purchasing, check delivery and name the person bringing the items on the day. Ordering something is not the same as having it ready at the venue. The same reasoning applies to meals, seating, transport and photography.

Treat responsibility as an agreement, not a cultural rule

Families differ in preferences and resources. A worksheet assignment does not establish that one party is traditionally obliged to do a task. If an item or ceremony is unfamiliar, ask the people who know the families' intended practice. Record what was actually agreed rather than using an online list to settle a disagreement.

Edit and remove items deliberately

The free preparation checklist lets you adjust tasks, choices and responsibility. If a task's meaning changes, check whether its previous completion mark still applies. Removing an item can be undone using the most recent deletion undo, but this is not a permanent version archive. Leave out irrelevant defaults and add the work the actual occasion requires.

Save a copy before leaving

By default this list stays in the current page. Enable device storage to resume in this browser; switching it off deletes the saved copy. No cross-device sync. Printing includes every item and status.

Once the occasion date is confirmed, the day-difference calculator can help assess remaining preparation time. Confirm bookings and family availability directly.
