Enter the complete Gregorian birth date and select a reference date for age. The result shows the Chinese zodiac sign, that birth year's Lunar New Year boundary, the lunar birth date and completed age. A full date matters particularly for January and February births.
Rules and supported dates
This Chinese zodiac tool changes year on Chinese Lunar New Year, not 1 January or the Start of Spring solar term.
Chinese lunar conversion: 1950–2035. Gregorian calculations: 1900–2199. Leap months remain distinct from regular months.
Worked example
2024-02-09 is still in the Rabbit year; 2024-02-10 starts the Dragon year. Both dates are in Gregorian 2024, but they have different signs under this tool's convention.
Common question
Why does a site using the Start of Spring give a different sign?
Different systems can use different year boundaries. This tool changes the sign on the first day of the Chinese lunar year and displays that boundary. Check the convention before comparing answers. The result identifies a calendar year; it does not predict personality, compatibility or fortune.
